I wouldn’t consider myself a chef by any means. Sure, I can make a mean Chicken Parmesan, but for years my go-to was a classic grilled cheese – two slices of buttered white bread with two slices (sometimes three) of American cheese in between. However, most adult diets need a bit of variety, which is where Home Chef comes in.

Before we moved, Andy & I joked that we could have at least 10 weeks of free or discounted delivery meals. There are SO many to choose from – Hello Fresh, BlueApron, Marley Spoon – all offering similar plans. With my new hours at work, I knew now was as good a time as any to subscribe and start testing my culinary skills.

When my first Home Chef box arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the organization of the meals. Outside of the meat, everything was contained it it’s own individual bag. Each meal provided instructions and perfectly-sized ingredients. Even the garlic was already peeled!

After the first delivery, which included Grilled Steak Salad, Shrimp Pad Thai and Chicken Quesadillas, I was set. The recipes are easy to follow, and absolutely delicious. Even the few we were hesitant on (I’m looking at you, Thai Fish Cakes) turned out fantastic. I’ve never spent more than 45 minutes on a meal, and nearly all of the recipes I’ve tried have been given my husband’s seal of approval.

What I like most about Home Chef compared to the competition is the adaptability between the meals. I don’t want to call myself a picky eater, but at the end of the day, I am. Knowing that all of the meals contain ingredients I’ve heard of, not to mention ones that are good for you and your body, I feel comfortable expanding my taste buds with their meals.
